Meeting capture

Choose how Bigmind captures meetings: on your device, through a meeting bot, or a mix for your team.

Bigmind can capture meetings through the Chrome extension or desktop app, or through a notetaker that joins the call. Your administrator chooses the approach and which meetings are eligible.

Availability: Available capture methods and the ability to switch between them depend on your organization’s plan. Not every plan includes all three options. Your administrator can review the options available in capture settings; contact Bigmind if you need a method your plan does not include.

On the clientThe Chrome extension or desktop app captures the meeting from your device. No separate bot joins.Everyone in the organization.
Via meeting botA visible notetaker joins supported Google Meet or Microsoft Teams meetings and captures the transcript and recording together.Everyone assigned to this method.
BothClient capture is the default. An administrator selects the users whose meetings use a bot.Different users use different methods; this does not enable two capture methods for the same user.

#Configure capture for your organization

Open Manage capture settings and policies. If your plan includes the capture method picker, under Meeting capture method choose On the client, Via meeting bot, or Both. If you choose Both, select the users who should use a bot.

For client capture, transcript and recording policies can be configured separately. For bot capture, one policy controls both: all meetings, external meetings only, or off. Configure your internal email domains before using external-only capture. These domains help Bigmind distinguish internal and external attendees.

Users assigned to bot capture do not also transcribe locally through the extension or desktop app. In supported browser meetings, the extension can still show the bot’s status and controls.
