Customize every mode to fit your workflow
Previously, agent customization was limited to the agent level—one prompt, one set of tools for everything. Now, customization happens at the mode level, giving you granular control over how each mode behaves.
For each mode, you can now configure:
System prompts - Write tailored instructions for each mode. Your Research mode can have a different personality and focus than your Engage mode.
Conversation starters - Define suggested prompts that appear in the chat empty state, helping users get started quickly with relevant questions.
Tools - Assign specific tools to each mode. Research modes get data lookup tools, Engage modes get email drafting tools—each mode gets exactly what it needs.
MCPs - Connect external services via Model Context Protocol, scoped to specific modes.
Knowledge - Attach documents, playbooks, and synced content from integrations like Confluence to give modes the context they need.
Changes auto-save as you work. Start with our defaults, then fine-tune each mode to match how your team actually sells.
